LivingCV ("we", "us", "our") operates a platform that lets professionals create and publish online profile pages. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use our website and services.

2. Information we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers when you sign up or sign in (including Google sign-in via Firebase Authentication).
• Profile content: information you add to your profiles (about text, experience, education, skills, languages, certificates, images, social links, and public slug).
• LinkedIn import (optional): if you connect your LinkedIn account, we receive data you authorize through LinkedIn's OAuth flow (for example name, profile URL, photo, and—where available—work history, education, skills, and related fields via LinkedIn's official APIs). We do not scrape LinkedIn profiles without your consent.
• Usage data: basic analytics such as profile view counts and technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.
• Local preferences: language and theme choices stored in your browser (local storage).

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve LivingCV
• Create and display your profile pages when you publish them
• Import and map LinkedIn data you explicitly authorize
• Process subscriptions and support requests
• Protect against abuse, fraud, and security incidents
• Comply with legal obligations

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers that help us run the product (for example Google Firebase for authentication, database, and file storage; Vercel for hosting; payment providers for Pro subscriptions).
• LinkedIn when you initiate a LinkedIn connection (under LinkedIn's terms and your consent).
• The public for fields you choose to publish on your public profile URL.
• Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

5. Data storage and security

Data is stored using Firebase (Google Cloud) and protected by industry-standard access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to safeguard your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Retention

We retain account and profile data while your account is active. You may delete profiles from your dashboard. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to withdraw consent (for example by revoking LinkedIn access in your LinkedIn account settings). Contact us at privacy@greenshpits.com to exercise these rights.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication sessions, locale (livingcv-locale), and theme (livingcv-theme). LinkedIn OAuth may set cookies during the authorization flow on LinkedIn's domain.

9. Children

LivingCV is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
